BLACKPINK’s ‘Light Up the Pink’ Details for ‘Pink Venom’ Single – Billboard

BLACKPINK is preparing to “light up the sky” once again.

On Wednesday (August 17), the K-pop girl group announced a special “Light Up the Pink” campaign ahead of the release of their long-awaited comeback single “Pink Venom.”

The news was shared via Twitter with a lineup of dates, locations and times in Seoul, Tokyo, Shanghai, Bangkok, New York and Los Angeles between Thursday and Friday for your Blinks to witness something special. Fans in New York can watch the Brooklyn Bridge light up at 8 pm ET, while fans in Los Angeles will see the Santa Monica Ferris wheel glow.

The “Light Up the Pink” campaign, likely a spin on the group’s “light up the sky” lyric from their 2020 single “How You Like That,” is just the most recently announced BLACKPINK event tied to the group’s comeback from girls to music On Tuesday, the quartet also announced that fans can look forward to a #PinkVenomChallenge, though details regarding the challenge have yet to be shared.

“Pink Venom” is scheduled to arrive on Friday, while the group’s next album, Born Pink, arrives on September 16.

The first performance of “Pink Venom” is also on the horizon for BLACKPINK, as they are scheduled to debut the song live and in person at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards, which will take place on August 28. The group is not nominated for any awards on the show, Lisa received a nomination for best K-pop for her solo song “Lalisa”. The nomination gives Lisa the honor of being the first K-pop female solo star and Korean solo artist to be nominated for a VMA.
